Your Periidot Pre + Post Facial Care Guide

Your Periidot Pre + Post Facial Care Guide

Posted by Jess Lauren on

At Periidot Holistic Esthetics, every treatment is more than a moment of self-care — it’s a step on your long-term journey toward radiant, resilient skin. Preparing thoughtfully before your facial, and nourishing your skin afterward, ensures the best possible results and supports balance that lasts well beyond your time in the studio.

Before Your Facial

Please avoid the following to ensure your skin is calm, balanced, and ready to receive the full benefits of your treatment:

  • Retinol, exfoliating acids, benzoyl peroxide: 3–5 days prior

  • Waxing or depilatories: 3 days prior

  • Facial laser treatments: 2 weeks prior

  • Isotretinoin (Accutane): must be discontinued for at least 6 months

  • Prescription topical medications: 2 weeks prior

  • Injectables (Botox/fillers): 2 weeks prior, or as directed by your physician

  • Extensive sun exposure or tanning beds: 1 week prior

Pro tip: Please arrive with a clean, makeup-free face (including mascara). This allows me to spend every minute of your appointment on personalized care. If you can’t remove makeup ahead of time, I’m happy to do so, but it will reduce your treatment time.

After Your Facial

Supporting your skin’s recovery enhances your glow and helps results last longer:

  • Stay hydrated and enjoy a nourishing, whole-food meal

  • Clean makeup brushes + change pillowcases promptly

  • Aim for restful sleep (before 10 PM if possible)

  • Avoid makeup, hot showers, saunas, or intense workouts for 24 hours

  • Use gentle, hydrating skincare for 3–5 days

  • Limit sun exposure + apply SPF 30+ daily

  • Avoid waxing, depilatories, or exfoliating actives for 1 week

  • Always use clean towels — especially after advanced treatments

  • Follow your customized homecare regimen for best results

✨ With mindful preparation and intentional aftercare, your skin is supported not just for one day, but for the long-term journey of balance, radiance, and resilience.

A Few Comfort Notes

  • Forms: Consent forms will be emailed to you upon booking. Completing them in advance (5–10 minutes) ensures a smooth start. Some are one-time, while others may be treatment-specific.

  • Arrival: Please arrive 10 minutes early to ease into your self-care ritual. Complimentary parking is available.

  • What to bring: For the most personalized experience, bring a list or photos of your current skincare products.

  • Clothing & jewelry: Choose comfortable, easy-to-remove clothing. Since jewelry must be removed, please leave delicate items at home.

  • Glasses vs. contacts: Certain treatments may irritate the eyes or require protective eyewear — glasses are most comfortable.

  • Hair care: Warm towels and massage may dampen the hairline. While I’ll do my best to protect it, plan accordingly if you have post-facial plans.

Discover the beauty of slowing down, preparing well, and allowing your skin the time it needs to renew. Each intentional step makes your results more profound, your glow more radiant, and your journey more sustainable.
